CONTACTS
The committee for the club is made up of the following members, who will be willing to assist you with any further information regarding the club.
PRESIDENT
Robert Downham [email protected] - 01903 268380
I joined the club in 1981 at the age of 13 and started racing straight away in time trials and then turned my hand at road racing. In 1985 I rode the National Junior 25 miles championship held in York. Nowadays I still ride time trials mainly between 10 and 50 miles, but I have also ridden a couple of 100 mile events over the last few years. I enjoy the social side of riding which now includes Audax and Sportive events. I served on the committee in several roles include general committee member, Treasurer and Chairman before becoming President.
CHAIRMAN
Graeme Gill [email protected]k - 01903 531069
My interest in cycling began, with my family, enjoying riding veteran bikes. These gradually became a little more modern as the mileage increased. Many of the club members would still describe me as a little ‘retro’. Although I am not competitive I do take part in the Evening Ten series, just trying to beat my own times.
We have a strong nucleus of competitive riders representing the club in local events and our Sunday Morning Club rides are well attended.
Looking to the future I would like to see the club expand, attracting younger members as well as more female riders.

I started taking cycling more seriously in 2018 after signing up for Ride London. Since then I've been hooked and have taken part in a number of sportive and race events.
I joined WECC in 2022 after moving to the area and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting other enthusiasts, exploring new roads and most importantly, finding new cafes. |
