I had to ask: "What's an Aquathon?". Well it's like a triathlon but without the cycling. And by her own admission this plays to Joan Lennon's strengths.
The Triathlon England Aquathlon was part of the weekend of events in Leeds for the ITU Triathlon World Series race. Joan won the gold medal in her age group for the Aquathlon. She was second fastest on the day but the fastest lady was unaffiliated and so Joan takes the title.

"It was a swim/run (no bike involved therefore I do better!!) based in Roundhay Park in Leeds - a sprint event which was a 750m lake swim followed by a hilly 5K run. So I am English National Champion for Aquathlon in the Ladies 55-59 age group! "
