Sunday Club Rides

Sunday club rides have been a part of the club for over 100 years. They used to be all day rides with stops at favourite pubs and tea rooms. These days they start at 9.00 and the aim is to be back in Worthing at 1 o'clock. There is always a stop for tea and cake.

The popularity of the Sunday club ride has meant that we have split into two groups. This prevents us from being too much of a nuisance to other road users. The speed of the groups are approximately 13 and 18 mph. It is suggested that beginners start in the slower group so they can learn to ride in a group, and 'keep a wheel' without having to cycle at a high speed, which could be a danger to themselves and others.

Both groups leave at the start and meet up for a tea and cake stop as shown on the runs list.
